A: Brookstone Homes provides you with one four-hour session in our design studio with our professional design consultant. This appointment is intended to be a lot of fun and relaxing. To make it easy on you, we have simplified the selection process and broken it down into very easy steps, thus making it very attainable for you to complete your selections in this timeframe. Please keep in mind, however, that we will not rush you. We want you to be happy and confident about the decisions that you make. Therefore, if needed, we will gladly schedule an additional appointment for you to return to the design studio!

Q: What should I bring to my appointment?
A: Feel free to bring any color swatches from existing furniture that you plan on keeping. This will help give our design consultant an idea of your personal style to best assist you in making your selections. Also, bring along any magazine photos of materials, colors, and textures that you would like to incorporate into your new home

Q: What types of items will I be selecting at the Design Studio?
A: At the design studio, you will be selecting all of the finishing options for your new home. Exterior selections include items such as vinyl siding, shutters, lighting, brick and stone options, and more. Interior selections include doors and hardware, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting packages, countertops, flooring, and more. Our design consultant will carefully outline these items prior to your appointment and will walk you through each selection step by step.

Q: What items should I most consider upgrading in my new home?
A: Although every customer is unique, there are a few items in your home that are most commonly upgraded. Interior doors and flooring are two of the main items that many customers choose to upgrade. These items tend to have the biggest impact on your home's overall value. Our design consultant will go over these items with you at your appointment and will make recommendations based on your personal budget.

Q: How can I pay for the selections I make at the Design Studio?
A: You have two options regarding payment at the design studio. You can select to pay for these items at the end of your appointment by check, or you can simply add it into your mortgage. Our design consultant will help you determine which option is best for you based on your personal situation.

Q: If I add my upgrades to my mortgage, how much will my monthly payment increase?
A: With a conventional 30-year mortgage at an annual interest rate of 6%, you can expect to add approximate $6 a month for every $1000 you spend in the design studio.
