At Brookstone Homes we want to ensure that we make the most of our time together at your design session.  In order to help you prepare, we’ve put together a little checklist of items that you may want to consider prior to your design session.

  • Drive through a few Brookstone communities to get an idea of which colors you like for siding, trim, shingles, shutters, and different exterior lighting options.
  • Walk through several Brookstone model homes for ideas on options and upgrades for items such as lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and flooring.
  • Get a space planning book from your New Home Specialist and layout where your current furniture will fit in your new home.
  • Browse through design magazine for ideas on colors, fabrics, and textures.
  • Bring color swatches from your current furniture to match colors.
  • Make a budget of how much you are willing to spend in the design studio. Determine ahead of time a list of “needs” and a list of “wants.”
  • Consider how you will use each room in your new home. You may need extra electrical outlets for a home office or additional cable jacks.
  • Arrange for a baby sitter during your design session. You’ll be more relaxed and productive it you don’t have to watch or entertain children.
  • Prepare to have fun! Your design session is one of the many highlights of your building experience and is intended to be relaxing and enjoyable! Our professional design consultant will be there to offer as much or as little expert advice as you desire.
